Good food and wine
I have been to all the continents and tried a variety of dishes. Surprising, wonderful exotic flavors leave a richness on the taste buds, support creativity, and build imagination. During my travels in Africa, after driving 1000 km across the western Sahara, we found ourselves in Timbuktu. My wife Ola, our friend Jean Oulatar – his Excellency from Chad, and I. We were in the best hotel in Timbuktu. The waiter served wine. Surprisingly, it was very good, but there was only one glass in the entire hotel. Ola and Jean drank wine from beer glasses. Good food doesn’t have to be sophisticated, and wine doesn’t have to be expensive. It’s fascinating to discover new flavors, experiment with spices. Good food is about scents, places, images, the experiences it brings, and the people who share those joys with you.
